Kolkata Airport (CCU) – Parking

Within Kolkata Airport (CCU) there is a parking area with 3000 undrground spaces and 2000 outdoor parking spaces. The prices are 100 rupees/2 hours (2,85€), 120 rupees/3 hours, 140/4 hours, etc…

North Kolkata 

In this part of the town you’ll find century-old buildings and a nice environment. Northern Kolkata is a quiet residential area within the oldest part of the city. It has an extension called as the BBD Bagh area, which includes several suburbs such as Bagbazar, Belgachhia, Shyam Bazaar, Shobha Bazaar, Maniktala, and Jorasanko. Main attractions could be the famous College Street area, the famous potters’colony of Kumortoli, Rabindranath Tagore’s home, and the unic Howrah Bridge.

Central Kolkata 

The very centre of Kolkata is full of historic institutions very concentrated and near one from another. This area is also used as the financial hub of the city and it includes basically the neighbourhoods of BBD Bagh, Esplanade, Entally and Maidan. Some of the Kolkata’s busiest streets are Chowringhee Road, Park Street, Shakespeare Sarani, and Camac Street are part of Central Kolkata.

South Kolkata 

In the southern Kolkata you’ll find a luxurious residential area, commercial centres and some other historical institutions. South Kolkata is located a bit apart from the rest of the city and it works also quite independently. This area includes some small neighbourhoods such as Gariahat, Dhakuria, Ballygunge, Bhawanipur, Alipore, New Alipore, Rash Behari, Kalighat, and Tollygunge.

East Kolkata

Eastern Kolkata is the main business zone, the very home of IT fast growing sector. It is formed of  Salt Lake City, Rajar Hat, Lake Town, and the E.M. It has many new infrastructures and you’ll appreciate lots of young people living and working there. Kolkata is also known for its iconic trams, considered the oldest ones in the whole Asia, Kolkata is the only city which still has trams working.
